Poem: Reunion
I call your name in Requiem
because I need to see
your face again and in this way
hold you close to me
Ever silent, cold and still
no beat, no grip, no cry
but if I take a breath for you
I hear you in my sigh
Holding fast the simple wish
my seconds slip away
your gentle touch left its mark
until eternity
We met but once so long ago
but this please know for sure
our Reunion beyond time
will last for ever more
In memory of Samuel a precious gift we had no time to cherish. Until our final reunion in eternal peace. No one ever recovers from true bereavement, the loss of someone close to their heart. We just learn how to carry on, skirting the edges of the hole torn in the centre of our soul.
